December 2, 2002
President Ralph Jones called the meeting to order at 6:03
P.M. Other members present were Cyndie Lee, Lance and Kristi
Lind, John Hecht, Deb Christian, and Chuck Bommarito. Ken
Harris was present as proxy for Jo Fryberger. The minutes of
the November meeting were approved as read.
Treasurer John Hecht reported BBS had $2,671 in the bank;
that new memberships and sales had netted ten dollars over
expense of supporting non-smoking nights at the Blues
Bouquet; and, that by January, BBS would be paying $200.00
for the post office box and for the website. The report was
accepted, and it was agreed that printed reports would be
available in the future. John will try to have an annual
report for the January meeting.
It was reported BBS gained nine new members at the
no-smoking evenings. Ken Harris said he would man a BBS
table on December 4. He thanked the board for their support,
and said the bar would try it on its own. Deb said she had
found little interest in a ladies blues club, but would keep
trying.
Ralph reported briefly on the December board retreat,
saying that Gary was charting schedules for events and BBS
involvement. In Gary's absence, John passed out his summary
of the discussions.
Regarding a Blues Foundation benefit, the board tabled
tentative commitment until it was learned what the
fund-raising was for. Nevertheless, the board reserved both
January 19 and February 16 dates for BBS events. The board
approved an expenditure of $200 for January 19th's jam and a
two-set show from a local band.
Ralph said he wanted a January newsletter, and article
assignments were made. Ralph set December 30 as deadline for
articles.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:11 P.M.
