President Ralph Jones called the meeting to order at 6:04
P.M. Other board members present were Chuck Bommarito, Lance
and Kristi Lind, Cyndie Lee, Gary Segers, and John Hecht.
The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as read.
John Hecht did not have a printed treasurer's report, but
he reported BBS will net approximately $325 from stage use
at the Hyde Park Street Fair.
Ralph read a letter he intends to hand-deliver to artists
on the aborted BBS CD project apologizing for not getting
appropriate permissions for publication.
Cyndie, Lance, and Kristi will man a table at the Caldwell
Blues Festival on the 20th. John and Gary provided an update
on the situation of the Blues Foundation: they are making
strides to become solvent.
The board adopted last year's budget for buffet basics
(meat, cheeses, and breads) at the annual meeting. The meeting/membership
party will run from 5 P.M. to 8 P.M. with buffet clean-up
to commence at 7:30.
The newsletter will be ready the first week in October.
Gary said that Justin Beller would like new, fresher items
for the website. Gary also reported that more volunteers
are needed for Hyde Park. Gary is back-logged because of
his recent move and is behind in getting out new membership
cards. Ralph will arrange to have pre-printed membership
cards in hand for the annual meeting.
BBS will be part of planning for the next Gene Harris jazz
festival; BBS will also be otherwise involved (volunteer
coordination, etc.).
President Jones adjourned the meeting at 6:45 P.M.
