May 5, 2002
The meeting was called to order at 6:04 P.M. In attendance
were Vanna Kay Donovan, John Hecht, Ralph Jones Jo Fryberger,
Cyndie Lee, Ken Harris, Gary Segers, and Lance and Kristi
Lind. Member Mike Thomas was also in attendance. The minutes
of the last meeting were read and approved as amended. John
Hecht presented his treasurer's report, which was accepted
by the board.
The monthly jam sessions were discussed, with attendance
being an issue. Due to conflicts with the Sunny Slope festival
in June and the BBS picnic in July, no jams will be hosted.
The next jam will be in August, and it was agreed to move
the jams to the third Sunday of the month, beginning August
18.
Ralph reported that he would "service mark" the
BBS logo. John said he would put together a pricing plan
for rental of the BBS stage, and it would be published on
our website. John will continue to be board liaison for
stage rental.
The board agreed that Ralph Jones will be the board's primary
contact with webmaster Justin Beller as a means to authenticate
and authorize website materials.
Gary reported on the Blues Festival for Recovery held at
the fairgrounds. BBS picked up 16 new members. The board
agreed to grant one-year free BBS memberships to Deb Christensen
and Kathy Bohmer, primary event organizers.
Through contacts developed at the Festival for Recovery,
Ralph will work on getting BBS involved in Blues events
at the Boise River Festival. Gary reported that he would
work to get BBS involved in next year's Gene Harris Jazz
Festival.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:15 P.M.
