March 3, 2003
President Ralph Jones called the meeting to order at 6:08
P.M. Other members present were Cyndie Lee, Lance and Kristi
Lind, John Hecht, Deb Christian, Chuck Bommarito, and Gary
Segers. Ken Harris was also present as Jo Fryberger's proxy.
Minutes of the February meeting were approved as read. John
Hecht presented a second revision of his printed, January
and February treasurer's reports. The board accepted the
report.
Gary reported that we were dropping slightly in membership,
either because of the time of the year or because of the
economy. John reported the Festival for Recovery had good
entertainment scheduled that would be reported in the next
newsletter. Deb reported she was recruiting volunteers for
the Gene Harris Jazz Festival. Lance and Kristi volunteered
to work the Blues Bouquet on club night. Ralph said he had
arranged for Frim Fram Four, Rex & Beverly, and Pete
Mauser & Friends as openers for Michelle Wilson at the
Gene Harris Jazz Festival Club Night.
Band line-up for the July 20 picnic is still being worked
on, but things are looking good. Lance advised that the
Salvation Army should be notified early of picnic plans
to help with promotion and advertising. The board agreed
to increase the suggested attendance donation from two to
three cans of food. Deb said she would get a donation jar
at all BBS jams. Gary and John reported the Blues Foundation
(of which BBS is a member) may be looking at merging with
the Blues Association.
The meeting adjourned at 7:00 P.M.
