BLUES
IN THE SCHOOLS
After a successful Fat Tuesday fun draiser in February of 2005, we
implemented our first Blues in the Schools (BITS) program
in February 2006 and are now in the midst of our fourth years' programming. Typically,
BITS presentations are guided by board members along with BBS member guest musicians who combine their expertise
to present a bit of history of the blues. Often the students jam
with the presenters.

Past
Years' Thank
You Letters
Ken,
I cannot thank Richard and Lyle enough for
joining my class twice this week!!! I sooooo appreciate it!!!!
They were AMAZING with not only with sharing their music but
encouraging kids to enjoy music and create their own music. I was
so impressed and so elated to have them come join us. They added a
new dimension to my students' concept of music in their lives.
Thank you so much! Please let me know if they
can come out any other time.
Best,
Karen

Hi Ken,
Thanks so much for the great performance this
afternoon! The guys were wonderful, and what a good chance for our
kids to hear the blues!
We'll keep in touch. I'll have you back next
fall when my class is in the middle of our blues unit!
Thanks, again,
